Early access play patch release date
The game was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows on May 19, 2010. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game also included a short downloadable quest called "Short Fable" at the end of the main quest, which provided the player with the means to unlock a costume for Aloy. In addition to these versions, a Mac OS X version was released by Microsoft on the same day of release.
The game has been available on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network since release.
Gameplay
Like its predecessors, Fable III takes place in a 3D version of Albion. The player starts out with a small selection of "trusty tools" and weapons, such as a pick axe, sword, bow, and a firecracker, the latter of which is the primary melee weapon. The player can also choose to start out with any one of six abilities that will be unlocked over the course of the game. The "Free" ability, which gives the player a small amount of money and a small amount of experience each time they kill an enemy, can be obtained by purchasing additional items from a merchant or through a non-lethal ability called "Ragdoll". Free and Ragdoll abilities are available to all characters, while the additional abilities can be unlocked by level 50 characters via in-game achievements and shops.
Numerous quests are available in the game, which are given to the player by a variety of people. These quests consist of providing a service, killing a target, or rescuing a lost person. Most quests can be completed alone or with another person. Completing a quest provides experience to the player's character, money, and a variety of other items such as weapons and armor. The player can also "level-up" their character, which increases their hit points, attack power, speed, and magic.
Plot
Fable III takes place several decades after the events of the previous two games. The story is set in a world where the faeries have been subjugated, controlled by various empires, and forced to work as their slaves. Several years after the rebellion that resulted in the second game, and after the peace treaty was signed with King Laurent and the Faerie Queen, the forces of the Fairy Queen and King Laurent have been locked in a long war that has been going on for several years. If you're still running the 1.1.1.2 patch, don't install this patch. 1.1.1.2 is the same disc with just a diferent label on it.
Once again, the fix is already available to you if you're not already using the.3.1 version of this patch.
Instead, download the.3.1 patch and install it.
Installing the.1.1.3 patch is a big risk and you risk bricking your disc.
If you've installed this patch already, you need to back up all your fable 3 saves and uninstall this patch or it will overwrite your save files and you won't be able to play the game anymore.
If you've already installed this patch, you need to back up your save files and do a clean uninstall.
The 1.1.1.3 update has a few fixes that didn't make it into the 1.1.1.2 patch, including the npcs in the Dunderhocker and Grace's house. If you want to play online, you'll need to use the 1.1.1.3 patch.
